Ford is ready to reenter Vancouver’s mid-sized pickup market with an all-new Ranger in 2019. After a seven-year hiatus, the much-loved model is returning to North America but, the question is, why now? To put it simply, this truck is ready to dominate the whole class.
No one wants to play for second best, which is why the Ranger will be coming straight in on top when it enters the market next year. According to Topspeed, the pickup will have a maximum towing capacity of 7,500 pounds, about 500 pounds more than any of its competitors. It can be loaded up too, with a maximum payload capacity of 1,860 pounds – significantly higher than the 1,500-pound industry standard.
Ford is raising the bar for what a mid-sized pickup is capable of, and this wouldn’t be possible without a stellar drivetrain. A 2.3-litre, turbocharged, EcoBoost four-cylinder engine sits under the hood, pumping out a colossal 310 pound-feet of torque. All this power runs through a 10-speed automatic gearbox which means you’ll never be left wanting, no matter the situation.
In terms of class, the Ranger is mid-sized, but there’s nothing mid-sized about its performance. To learn more, including additional specs and pricing, contact our team today.
